Carolyn Marie Patterson

Carolyn passed from this life the morning of February 1st, 2014 at 10:31 am. She was born May 23, 1951, in Pulaski Illinois to the union of the late Willie E. Adkinson, Sr and the late Susie J Rogers. She was baptized and accepted Christ at an early age and again prior to her death.

Carolyn attended elementary school in Pulaski and Hartigan Elementary School in Chicago, after moving to Chicago with her family. She continued her education at Forestville High School. Carolyn married Lewis Allen Patterson Sr. on September 15, 1969. She lived in Chicago until she moved to Plano TX in October of 1993. She lived the remainder of her life in Texas.

Carolyn worked at Texas Instruments for 4 years. She was then employed for 17 years at The Medical Center of Plano. After a gradual decline in health, she retired from The Medical Center of Plano in November of 2013.

Carolyn was a very quiet, kind, caring, loving and peaceful person. She loved her family very much. Throughout her lifetime, she helped many people regardless of how much or how little she had. Carolyn was very close to her sister Linda. She was an avid basketball fan of the Bulls and the Mavericks.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Willie E Adkinson Sr. and Susie Hines; Step-Father Leslie Hines; Brothers Lawrence G. Adkinson Sr., and Willie E Adkinson Jr.; Brother-in-law Grady L McKinney; Sister-in-laws Fiona Adkinson and Brenda Adkinson.

Carolyn leaves behind with heart felt memory: A devoted Husband of 43 years, Lewis Patterson Sr. Two Sons, Lewis (Sharita) Patterson Jr. and Jermaine Patterson of Texas. Two Daughters, Denise (Danny) Brice and Cynthia (Kenard) Howard of California. Carolyn is survived by three siblings sisters, Linda McKinney and Shelia Mack of Illinois and brother Gerald (Charlisa) Mack of Illinois. Eight grandchildren Antanice Richardson Noble, Ebony Alexander, Lewis Patterson III, Arianna Patterson, Curtis Cleveland, Jalen Patterson, Jordan Patterson, Jacie Patterson, Passionate Howard, Kenesha Howard, and Kaijanae Howard.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the Ted Dickey Funeral Home, located at 2128 18th Street in Plano, TX. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the hour of the service on Saturday also at the funeral home.
