

Carolyn Perry, 76, of Heartland, Texas, passed away on June 12, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith and remarkable achievements. Born on October 31, 1946, in Houston, Texas, Carolyn was the daughter of Rev. James Henry Williams and Allene Archie Williams, of blessed memory.
Carolyn was a woman of humble heart who walked her faith every day of her life. Her love for God was ever-present and reflected in her kindness, generous spirit, and devotion to her family, friends, and community. She was known for her keen intellect, moral integrity, and unwavering dedication to serving others.
Carolyn will be remembered for her passion for reading, playing computer games, especially puzzles, seek and find, world-building games, and writing. She also enjoyed traveling and serving in church programs like the prayer and prison ministries, which allowed her to spread hope, compassion, and the message of God's grace.
Carolyn was a faithful member of Grace Church in Carrollton, TX and at the time of her passing was a member of Friendship-West Baptist Church in Dallas, TX, and One Community Church in Plano, TX, where she worshipped with humility, gratitude, and respect for all of God's creation.
After graduating from Blackshear Elementary School and Jack Yates High School in Houston, Texas, Carolyn went on to attend The University of Wisconsin, where she studied Theatre. Later, she attended The University of Texas Nursing School.
Carolyn had a remarkable career as a Nursing Manager, Risk Management Specialist, and Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) for over 40 years. Her career focused on training, rehabilitation, long term, and subacute care. She was also the proud owner of Perry and Associates HealthCare Training, Co-Owner of A & P Healthcare Training LLC, and a member of the National Association of Directors of Nursing in Long-Term Care (NADONA), Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN), and National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP). Her selfless dedication to this field earned her the prestigious Director of Nursing of the Year for South West Region in 2008, awarded by NADONA. She is also the author of the book Milk for Baby Christians.
Carolyn was a loving and dedicated mother to her daughter, Angela Orr Heath, her son, Jamaal Rashad Perry, and her son-in-law Vincent Greer. She was a proud grandmother to Marquis Fomby II and Keith Heath II, who experienced her love, wisdom, and grace in immeasurable ways.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Ted Dickey Funeral Home, 2128 18th St, Plano, TX 75074 on July 8, 2023 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. We ask for your thoughts and prayers as we come together to celebrate Carolyn's life and grieve her loss.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Let us honor Carolyn's legacy of love and service to others by giving back to those who need it most.
