Cathy Russell Thibodeaux (b. Cathy Lynn Russell) was born on July 3, 1951 in Houston, TX to Edith Russell (b. Edith Marie Parkess) and David Judson Russell and passed away at home in Murphy, TX on September 17, 2026 after a precipitous decline from aggressive bladder cancer.
Cathy leaves behind daughters Laura Marie Thibodeaux Hayden and Janie Thibodeaux Aleman, and grandson Cody James Thibodeaux Hayden. Sisters Billie Jean Corbin and Sue Russell also survive her, as well as cousins, friends, nephews, and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Tara Louise Thibodeaux and her husband Reynold James Thibodeaux.
Cathy was a beloved mother, family member, and friend. She enjoyed being with those she cared about, researching genealogy, and drinking a good margarita. She is a bright, kind soul and will always watch over those she leaves behind.
She will be laid to rest with her late husband in Houston National Cemetery.
