Cesar "Alex" Alexander Coloma

If you knew Alex, you probably knew him by one of many names: Alex, A-Bomb, A-Bomb Cosplay, Alex Kenway. What never changed, no matter the name, was who he was at his core: unapologetically himself.

Alex lived fully and without hesitation. He followed what he loved, spoke to people with ease and sincerity, and built connections wherever he went. Life around him felt fuller because he was in it.

Born on February 20, 1990, in Los Angeles, California, to Margarita and Cesar, Alex moved to Texas as a young child and grew up in Plano. Dallas was always his city. It was where he built his life, created his routines, and found the places and people that felt like home.

Alex experienced the world in his own way, with a perspective that was honest, direct, and entirely his. It was part of what made him genuine and unforgettable.

Alex was accomplished and persevered through life with both strong discipline and character. He did not let limitations define him. He graduated from Plano East Senior High School, continued on to Collin College, and later earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Entrepreneurship from the University of North Texas. In his twenties, he competed in powerlifting and found success in competition, earning top placements. He pushed himself, stayed committed, and proved what he was capable of achieving.

When Alex loved something, he did not do it halfway. He immersed himself in it. He learned everything he could, remembered details most people overlooked, and carried that knowledge with confidence. Whether it was comics, sports, films, or the characters he grew up with, his excitement made those conversations unforgettable.

Alex’s first love was the Power Rangers. One episode titled “Always a Chance” stayed with him over the years. In many ways, the episode reflects something about Alex, showing up, being present for those he cared for, and making the most of what was in front of him.

Alex had a natural ease with people. He could start a conversation anywhere, not out of obligation, but genuine interest. That ability to connect turned strangers into friends and friends into lasting relationships. That is also why he could travel across the country and still run into familiar faces in unexpected places.

Life with Alex never felt routine. He followed what interested him in the moment, trusted his instincts, and found himself in places and experiences that often surprised even those closest to him. That unpredictability is part of what made him so memorable.

Alex’s life passion revolved around comic and anime conventions. They were where he felt most connected. From Texas to California, to Maryland, and especially Atlanta for DragonCon, he traveled across the country building friendships and becoming part of a community that meant the world to him. Those trips were not just events, but some of his most meaningful memories.

He also loved to travel beyond that, visiting places many only dream of, including Spain, Italy, England, and Ireland. He valued those experiences deeply and always looked forward to what was next.

Alex’s interests were wide and deeply held. He followed wrestling closely, from WWE to international promotions and the independent circuit. He knew it all. Alex was a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers, supporting them through every season with the same passion. His opinions were direct, honest, and always his own.

He loved all genres of music, especially country, and he loved to dance. Red River in Dallas was one of his favorite places to be. He did not worry about doing things perfectly. He just went out and enjoyed himself.

Food was another way Alex expressed himself and connected with others. He loved trying new places, cooking at home, and especially grilling for family. It was something he took pride in and shared with the people around him.

More than anything, Alex cared about people. He stayed connected, checked in, and made an effort to be present in the lives of those he loved. That care defined him. It is what people felt when they were around him, and it is what they will remember most. He had a remarkable memory and a way of holding onto moments that mattered. Conversations with Alex often returned to shared experiences from the past, usually beginning the same way:

“Hey, remember when…”

And now, we find ourselves saying it back.

Alex is survived by his parents; his brothers, Bryan and Chris; his nephew; and a large extended family of relatives, friends, and a cosplay community that he considered family.

Alex once said that he was not going to die and that he was going to live forever.

In faith, we trust that he is now at peace, and that the love he gave, the connections he made, and the life he lived will continue with all who knew him.

Cesar Alexander “Alex” Coloma passed away on April 20, 2026, at the age of 36.

He is deeply loved, greatly missed, and forever remembered.

Visitation will be held at Ted Dickey Funeral Home, 2128 18th Street, Plano, TX 75074, US, on May 10, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Alex’s Funeral Service will take place at Saint Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1201 Alma Dr, Plano, TX 75075, US, on May 11, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with a reception to follow at Saint Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1201 Alma Dr, Plano, Texas 75075, beginning at 11:00 am.

A Graveside Committal will be held at Plano Mutual Cemetery, 2128 18th St, Plano, Texas 75074, on May 11, 2026, beginning at 3:00 pm.

Alex Coloma (Cesar Alexander Coloma)

Si conocías a Alex, probablemente lo conocías por uno de sus muchos nombres: Alex, A-Bomb, A-Bomb Cosplay, Alex Kenway. Lo que nunca cambiaba, sin importar el nombre, era quién era en su esencia: auténticamente él mismo.

Alex vivía la vida plenamente y sin dudar. Seguía lo que le gustaba, hablaba con las personas con facilidad y sinceridad, y creaba conexiones dondequiera que iba. La vida a su alrededor se sentía más completa simplemente porque él estaba ahí.

Nacido el 20 de febrero de 1990 en Los Ángeles, California, hijo de Margarita y César, Alex se mudó a Texas cuando era pequeño y creció en Plano. Dallas siempre fue su ciudad. Ahí construyó su vida, sus rutinas y encontró los lugares y las personas que sentía como hogar.

Alex veía el mundo a su manera, con una perspectiva honesta, directa y completamente suya. Eso era parte de lo que lo hacía tan genuino e inolvidable.

Alex logró muchas cosas y salió adelante en la vida con disciplina y carácter. No dejó que las limitaciones lo definieran. Se graduó de Plano East Senior High School, continuó sus estudios en Collin College y luego obtuvo su licenciatura en Administración de Empresas con énfasis en Emprendimiento en la Universidad del Norte de Texas. En sus veintes, compitió en powerlifting y tuvo éxito en competencias, logrando posiciones destacadas. Se exigía a sí mismo, se mantenía comprometido y demostraba de lo que era capaz.

Cuando a Alex le gustaba algo, no lo hacía a medias. Se metía de lleno. Aprendía todo lo que podía, recordaba detalles que otros pasaban por alto y llevaba ese conocimiento con orgullo. Ya fuera de cómics, deportes, películas o personajes con los que creció, su entusiasmo hacía que cualquier conversación fuera especial.

El primer amor de Alex fueron los Power Rangers. Un episodio en particular, “Always a Chance”, se quedó con él a lo largo de los años. De muchas maneras, ese episodio refleja algo de Alex: estar presente, estar para las personas que quería y aprovechar lo que tenía enfrente.

Alex tenía una facilidad natural para conectar con la gente. Podía empezar una conversación en cualquier lugar, no por compromiso, sino por interés genuino. Esa forma de ser convertía desconocidos en amigos y amigos en relaciones duraderas. Por eso, incluso estando lejos, era común que se encontrara con caras conocidas en los lugares más inesperados.

La vida con Alex nunca se sentía rutinaria. Seguía lo que le llamaba la atención en el momento, confiaba en su instinto y terminaba en lugares y experiencias que muchas veces sorprendían incluso a los más cercanos. Esa espontaneidad es parte de lo que lo hacía tan memorable.

La pasión de Alex giraba en torno a las convenciones de cómics y anime. Ahí era donde más conectado se sentía. Desde Texas hasta California, pasando por Maryland y especialmente

Atlanta para DragonCon, viajó por todo el país construyendo amistades y formando parte de una comunidad que significaba mucho para él. Esos viajes no eran solo eventos, eran algunos de los momentos más importantes de su vida.

También le encantaba viajar más allá de eso, visitando lugares con los que muchos solo sueñan, como España, Italia, Inglaterra e Irlanda. Valoraba mucho esas experiencias y siempre esperaba con ilusión lo que venía después.

Los intereses de Alex eran amplios y profundos. Seguía la lucha libre de cerca, desde WWE hasta promociones internacionales y el circuito independiente. Lo sabía todo. Era fan fiel de los Dallas Cowboys y los Texas Rangers, apoyándolos en cada temporada con la misma pasión. Sus opiniones eran directas, honestas y siempre propias.

Le gustaba todo tipo de música, especialmente la música country, y le encantaba bailar. Red River en Dallas era uno de sus lugares favoritos. No le preocupaba hacerlo perfecto. Simplemente salía a disfrutar el momento.

La comida era otra forma en la que Alex se expresaba y conectaba con los demás. Le gustaba probar lugares nuevos, cocinar en casa y sobre todo hacer parrilladas para la familia. Era algo que le gustaba hacer y que compartía con los que tenía cerca.

Más que nada, Alex se preocupaba por las personas. Se mantenía en contacto, preguntaba cómo estaban y hacía el esfuerzo de estar presente en la vida de quienes quería. Eso lo definía. Era lo que la gente sentía al estar con él, y lo que más van a recordar.

Tenía una memoria increíble y una forma especial de guardar los momentos importantes. Las conversaciones con Alex muchas veces regresaban a recuerdos compartidos, casi siempre comenzando de la misma manera:

“Oye, ¿te recuerdas cuando…?”

Y ahora, somos nosotros los que lo decimos.

A Alex le sobreviven sus padres; sus hermanos, Bryan y Chris; su sobrino; y una gran familia extendida de familiares, amigos y una comunidad de cosplay que él consideraba como familia.

Alex una vez dijo que no iba a morir, que iba a vivir para siempre.

Con fe, confiamos en que ahora descansa en paz, y que el amor que dio, las conexiones que creó y la vida que vivió seguirán presentes en todos los que lo conocieron.
