Born in Houston, Texas, Cindy lived a life full of warmth, laughter, and love. She graduated from Spring High School and soon after began a rewarding career in the title industry, where she worked in management and as an Escrow Officer for property closings from 1979 until her retirement in 2012.
Cindy was married to the love of her life, Ron Silk, for 45 wonderful years. Together, they built a life centered on love, accomplishments and shared adventures. Cindy was known for her incredible cooking and baking—her husband fondly described her meals as “gourmet,” because everything she made was crafted with such care and talent. Her long-standing tradition of making homemade fudge for the holidays will be deeply missed by her friends and family.
In addition to cooking, Cindy loved to snow ski, host company at her backyard pool, and enjoyed water aerobics. She embraced life with energy and enthusiasm, finding joy in the simple pleasures and sharing them generously with others.
A three-time cancer survivor, ultimately cancer free, Cindy faced every challenge with courage, grace, and determination. Ron was by her side every step of the way. Her strength and positivity inspired everyone who knew her, and she lived each day with gratitude and hope.
Cindy is survived by her devoted husband, Ron; her daughter, Stacy; two cherished grandchildren, Branden and Tristen; a great-grandbaby on the way; her two loving sisters, Kathy (Snookie) and Debbie; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless friends and associates who loved and respected her dearly. She is also survived by her faithful dachshund-chihuahua mix, Spencer, her constant companion and loyal protector.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Christine Goedecke, along with her sister, Terry.
Cindy’s warmth, generosity, and kindness inspired everyone around her, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all whose lives she touched.
A memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the North Texas Food Bank in Cindy’s honor.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Ted Dickey Funeral Home.
