He was born in Shreveport, LA on July 31, 1962. He made his way to TX in his late teens.
He met Laurie A. West and they were married a few years later on December 23, 1988.
Cortney worked in construction and maintenance most of his life. He was very talented and could fix most anything. When it came to his work, he was a true perfectionist. He loved his family and had a very special relationship with his grandson. He also loved being from Louisiana and was proud to let everyone know it. He was a loyal New Orleans Saints football fan his entire life.
Cortney is survived by his wife, Laurie A. Rayburn, daughters, Molly Rayburn & Dacoda Rayburn, daughter-in-law, Lindsey Mauldin, grandchildren, Rylee & Levi Tanowitz, sister Elizabeth VanFleet as well as many friends and family members. He will be truly missed.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, January 27th at 11:00AM at Woodcreek Church 3400 E. Renner Rd., Richardson, TX 75082.
