

David was born and raised in Morgantown, West Virginia to Cecil Harry Wells and Mary Elizabeth Steckline who have both preceded him in death.
David's working career began at the Coca-Cola company but the call of duty to Country sang loud. He enlisted in the Army, and his journey began. He served his Country with tours of duty to Vietnam, Ft. Ritchie, Italy, Korea, Panama, Ft. Monmouth and Zweibrucken, Germany. Achieving through School and training, he held as many as 5 Military MOS’s to include, Engineering, Operations Chief, Maintenance Chief, Cryptographer and Communications. David received many Service Medals for his Valor.
After Serving 20 yrs, David relocated with his family to Plano, Texas to work for EDS/HP as a Chief Architectural Engineer. He retired in 2012 after 20 years of service.
He is survived by his beautiful & loving wife of 63 years, Judith Eleanor Wells. His Children David L Wells II and his wife Lisa, Jacquelyn Mozingo and her husband Jeffery. His Grandchildren, Lee, Colin, Spencer, Preston, Ashlee, Michael and Ryan. His Great Grandchildren, Madeline, Judah, Ryleigh, Cayden & Adalynn. As well as many Nieces and Nephews. He is also survived by his Brother Cecil Thomas Wells. David's Brother Harry James Wells preceded him in death just a few short months ago.
David had many passions in life including his love of Photography, Fishing, Computing, Biking, Politics, Weapons, Bier Meister and Experimenting with Food! One of his fondest passions was Travel. When given the chance to road trip from one duty station to another, David took his family and embarked on a month-long journey of lifetime through Central America!
He was known for his kindness and compassion for family and friends.
His words to live by were Family, God and Country - He believed!
He will be missed by many and will continue to watch over Judith when she says Our Lords nightly prayer as they did together through this lifetime.
A Military Graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 11:00am
