Donald was born in Montreal, Quebec to Geraldine and Daniel. He was an only child. During his early years he was raised by his mother while his father served as a wing commander in the Canadian Air force stationed in England during World War II

He grew up loving sports and entered the work force as a purchasing agent in the structural steel business. He moved his family to Vancouver in 1964 and in 1973 was the owner/operator of the Tsawwassen Lite Centre. He loved to travel and was an active member of the Tsawwassen Alliance church. His heart was with the young people and for several years organized a winter ski weekend for the youth group to both Whistler and Mt. Baker.

In 2000, he re-located to Texas, he remained devoted to his family and divided his time between Aldergrove and Dallas. He played an integral part in raising his grand children in Dallas.

He is survived by his son David (Geetha Ram), Nick and Maya; his daughter Karen Tombe (Allan), Noah and Tyson; and his son Larry (Elviera).

I will definitely miss seeing your smiley and friendly face all the time at Kroger. You always checked out in my line. Every time I saw you, it would always brightened my day. You are going to be deeply missed.

We always used to share our struggles in life, and I will always remember his smiling face.

I always loved arriving at the Fortune house with Nick and our friends to Grandpa’s presence. He would surely make us laugh and feel welcomed and loved. He would also stop by my register when I worked at Kroger and bring life to an otherwise dull environment.

Will surely miss you Grandpa Donald.
Thank you for the life you brought wherever you went!
