

On June 29, 1963, Sue married John A. Tankersley and later started her family with the birth of their son, Christopher R. Tankersley on January 12, 1965. Both her husband and son were the loves of her life.
Sue worked briefly as a secretary for several different companies. She ended her business career before her son was born, to focus on raising him and caring for her family.
She was a wonderful mother, and accomplished homemaker who loved to cook, go camping, traveling and was also interested in politics. She was past president of the Plano Republican Women’s Club.
Sue was a life member of The First Christian Church in Plano, and a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class.
Sue Tankersley was peacefully called to be with our Lord on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at her home of 31 years in Plano. She was greeted in Heaven by her parents and her brother, Glenn Rush.
Her life will continue to be remembered and celebrated by her husband, John A. Tankersley; son, Christopher; brother Tommie O. Mankins and his wife Debbie of Crandall; niece, Mollie Mantia and her husband Todd and son Dominic of Lexington, KY; brother-in-law, James Cox of Midwest City, OK. She is also survived by her extended family, Bill and Kay Taylor of Plano and their children and families; and numerous cherished relatives and close friends.
