

George was gifted by GOD to his parents, Wayne H. and Gloria M. (Beers) Elwell in Danbury CT January 1, 1947, at 1:10AM, the Danbury’s first baby of the year.
George is survived by his amazing and loving wife Marianne Foley, his two sons Kevin (wife B.J.) and Keith plus daughter Heather Wiseman (Shelly) and Stepson David Gironda of New Jersey. George leaves a brother Wayne (Isabel) and sister Gloria (of Florida) and cousin-sister Lucille Gaye (Cecil) Drake. George has 2 grandsons, David (Mistie) and Travis (Sara) Elwell, 2 granddaughters, Ciara (Curtis) Radabaugh of Ohio and Faith Wiseman (Jonathan), 2 great grandsons, Braxton and Brantley Elwell and great granddaughter Naomi Cisneros. George was predeceased by his parents, oldest brother (Gary), and oldest sister (Lucille Mann).
George graduated from Henry Abbott Technical School in Danbury in June 1964, then in May 1965 he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was a Cryptographic Equipment Maintenance Technician. George attained the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-5) in December 1968 and was honorably discharged in January 1969. George always said he was blessed not to serve in Vietnam.
Following the Air Force, George worked for several companies as Electronic Technician and Engineer. George is co-inventor for two Patents in Telecommunications. In January 2003 George passed the Texas Real Estate exam, became a Broker in 2005 and opened Real Care Realty in Plano where he helped folks buy, sell, lease and had a successful Property Management business until his retirement in 2025.
In addition to his career, George was a faithful Rotarian from May 2006 until his death. George served as a club President for Plano Sunrise Rotary Club where he organized and emceed two Honoring and Remembering 9-11 events, 2013 & 2014. Together these events, with matching funds, raised over $18,000 for Polio Plus, the international Polio eradication campaign. George also served as Rotary District 5810 Assistant Governor twice and was active in RYLA 5810, Rotary Youth Leadership Award leadership camp. George served on several community boards & commissions including President of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Collin County affiliate.
George will be greatly missed by the many friends he has made through Rotary, the Plano and Allen Chambers of Commerce, Leadership Plano (class 24), Church, community involvement and neighborhood participation.
