A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at First United Methodist Church located at 3160 E. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, TX 75074. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at the Ted Dickey Funeral Home in Plano, TX located at 2128 18th Street from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Sachse Cemetery 6314 Sachse St. Sachse, TX 75048.
Harold was born December 20, 1936, in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of the late Harold R. and Marjorie Bradley Epps. He graduated from Miami Jackson High School in 1955 and was honored to have served in the U. S. Air Force and travel the world working in the field of telecommunications for many years. Harold was most proud of his years working at NASA as a Supervisor of Voice Communications in Mission Control during the heyday of the Mercury, Gemini, Skylab, Apollo and Space Shuttle missions.
Harold is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Todd Barto of Sugar Land, TX; daughter and son-in-law Carole and Randy Gebka of Roselle, IL.; grandchildren, Alexandra, Olivia, Rachel, Stephanie, Sophie and great-grandchild, Cora. He is also survived by his sister, Norma Wollard of Florida and is preceded in death by his brother, James Epps.
Harold was a man with many talents and enjoyed a multitude of hobbies ranging from golf, photography, pen turning and train collecting to performing magic tricks, playing Santa and telling jokes. He never met a stranger and loved to make others laugh. He was unique and will be truly missed by those that crossed his path.
