Mr. Jack Petty was born on November 27, 1932 in Ohio. As a young man, Jack was baptized into fellowship with the Methodist church, served proudly in the United States Air Force, and later worked as Communications Supervisor with both AT&T and MCI.
Known for his love of woodworking, attention-grabbing fun t-shirts, creativity, and wonderful sense of humor; Jack enjoyed drawing, puzzles, genealogy research, the Game Show Network, Ohio State Buckeyes Football, and Elvis. Jack never met a dog that he didn’t love and his dogs were his babies, he told everyone about them, showed their pictures all the time and spoiled them rotten, he was an avid supporter of The DFW German Shepherd Rescue. Above all, he was simply a great man to all who knew him; the adoring husband of 64 years to Mrs. Virginia “Ginny” Petty; loving dad and hero to his children Mike (Jill), Karen, Laurie (James), and “daughter-at-heart”, Marcy; grandfather to granddaughters Kelly and Jamie: great grandfather to eight; cherished brother-in-law of Harriet; amazing uncle to Vicki and family; beloved Grampie to many dogs and cats; and forever missed by his extended family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be submitted in his honor to The DFW German Shepherd Rescue online at www.DFWGermanShepherdRescue.org or mailed to the rescue at Bowie, TX 76230.
