Jackie “Jack” Dean Bowling lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service. Born on a farm in Missouri, Jack grew up learning the value of hard work and the simple joys of life. His childhood was shaped by the land—by crops his family grew, and the animals they hunted to sustain themselves. It was there that Jack developed his lifelong love of the outdoors and a deep appreciation for the traditions and skills that shaped him.
Jack’s greatest loves were his family, his church, and the many passions that brought him joy throughout his life. He married the love of his life, Linda, in 1963 while living in Taiwan, beginning a lifetime of adventure together. Their journey took them across the world, most notably to South Africa, where Jack played a remarkable role in helping bring Telecommunications from the Mountain Mines of South Africa extending to the Atlantic Ocean allowing communications to Ships in the Atlantic. No matter where life took him, Jack embraced every opportunity with curiosity, dedication, and a generous spirit.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Jack found his greatest pride in his family. He and Linda raised three children—Teresa, Mike, and Steve—instilling in them the same values of faith, kindness, and perseverance that guided his own life.
Jack was a man of deep faith and an active member of Plano East church of Christ, where he served as a deacon. He loved teaching God’s word to children and adults alike, and he had a special gift for making others feel seen, supported, and cared for. Whether he was visiting someone in need, sharing a lesson, or simply offering a listening ear, Jack lived his faith through quiet acts of service and compassion.
He was also an enthusiastic sports fan, especially when it came to baseball and football, and he enjoyed spending time bowling and sharing his love of the sport with others.
Jack’s life was defined by generosity, humility, and a steadfast devotion to the people and communities he loved. His legacy will live on through his family and the countless lives he touched—with kindness, laughter, and with a heart that never ceased to amaze.
He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
He is survived by His Wife, Linda, Children, Teresa, Mike, and his wife DeAnna; Steve, and his wife Debra; grandchildren Paige, Spencer, Austen, Quinton, Chase, Travis, Erica, Mabrey, Rylee, Hayden, and great grand daughters Adelynn and Alyssa.
