2 years feels unreal. so much has happened in all of our lives since you had to leave. every milestone i hit i feel guilty u never got to hit it. every time i look at my friends’ faces and realize how much our faces have matured, i feel guilty and wonder what you would look like now, if you had only had the blessing of time. looking back on our old pictures and videos, you just keep looking younger and younger; forever a baby face. when we were freshmen we thought we were so old… my heart goes out to everyone reading this today.  i pray you’ve found peace the way banks had. god is good on his promise, amen! 🤍🤍🤍

almost 2 damn years without you, as much as I love god I get mad at him for taking you too soon. you were so young. you had a great life ahead of you. my heart aches every time I think about you. Missing you more than ever rn. I remember the noght vividly whenever i found out about the accident. I had never ran up the stairs and woke my mom up faster. I told her we needed to go see banks because he had been in an accident. She could tell how upset i was and told me i should not go and see him because it would affect me mentally. The second i found out you passed, my heart broke. I was in the kitchen trying to pass time and i fell onto my knees an broke down crying. I didnt go to school for multiple days and when i came back i was a puffy eyes train wreck. I miss you man. Cant wait to see you again you were always my boy.

As I see more of the world and what it has to offer I wish you were able to see it too. Constantly in my thoughts still, Banks.

happy birthday banks! i miss you endlessly, and im so grateful you came into my life and for me to get to know you as an person. you have left the most beautiful sunsets for everyone banks, just like you left a light in people everytime you wouldve talked w/ them or touched them.  everytime i look up at the sky i think of you. you wouldve been 16 banks! we’ve talked abt this day and it finally came. i know i cannot bring you back unfortunately but i will make sure you are known and remembered. i will make sure people will know who is james banks marcum is. say hi to god up there for me banks! 💞 #LLBM. 

i met banks a while ago at a get together with some friends. he immediately stood out to me with his bright smile and contagious laugh. i will never forget how sweet he was. he could make you feel better whenever you had a bad day and could always cheer you up, he was the one you would call or text if you had any problems, it hurts to know that i can’t call him anymore to tell him about my day but i know he is in heaven with the Lord. He was taken too soon, he was too pure for this world, and he will forever be missed.

banks was such an amazing person not only to be around but also to talk to him. i will never not be over his passing and i’ll miss him a life time. i wish his family happiness and healing and to find banks in the little things! until we meet again banks ily forever angle! ❤️ LLB!

My daughter Teagan and Banks have been friends since kindergarten. Banks was her first boyfriend in middle school and into high school. While with him I never once worried about her safety. Banks was her protector.  The friendship they had remained strong even after they broke up.
Banks was hilarious, a dare devil and such a polite young man. Banks smile would light up a room!
 Teagan and our family loved Banks very much. We will forever cherish our memories with him.

This was when me, banks, and some friends went to go see a movie and when i went to talk with somebody or go to the restroom he stole my phone and would take a million photos. He was always a funny person and a good guy to hang out with

In skills for living class last year we tried to sew a dress together for banks because nobody else wanted to do it hut him he was the only one he was always a fun guy and would always do things even if other people thought it was stupid or boring he always made people laugh 

This was again in skills for living about a week after me, him, and some of our friends shaved our heads for fun and this is him eating a giant heap of icecream we got for ourselves and he was trying to play off that with all of that diabetic mess he made it was good. He always made the best out of something even if it was terrible

Hello! I’m Hannah Adams from Barksdale! I am praying for y’all on the regular. I have tons of memories of Banks. I remember Jordan making me FaceTime him when we went on walks, I remember playing basketball, moss, and jackpot with him at recess, I remember him commissioning me to draw Fortnite characters (which I still have), I remember him doing a back flip for our fifth grade video, and a bunch of silly things he did during fifth-grade camp. Gosh, I don’t think he ever got over being banned from capture the flag in PE in both elementary and middle school lol. He was so funny and seeing everyone’s videos and stories about him made me realize how much I missed out. My condolences 💐 

i remember, it was during the summer and banks was at the lake and i was having boy problems. he sent me a message and it was “forget them boys” i remember i laughed so hard and i still find it funny. banks was a very loving person and he always cared. Now it’s not same without you. i don’t get the random messages throughout the day anymore they were funny messages or we would play imessage games and joke around about lots of things. i miss my dear banks, i know your looking down at us and the only thing we can do is stay our strongest. i lost a good friendship to soon. i love you and i miss more and more as the lonely days pass by❤️

Banks was the best brother to me that I never had!!! There was never ever a dull moment with him! 9 years right by his side was the best 9 years I could ever ask for! He made every single person laugh and always cared for you no matter what❤️ 
It's truly heavy on the heart that he is no longer with us, but I know he is watching over all of us day by day!!
