

He joined the Navy in 1951 and did three tours overseas. He was awarded several service ribbons including four battle stars during the Korean War while aboard destroyer R.B. Anderson DD786 where he was in charge of radio communications.
Jerry married his high school sweetheart, Wanda Yandell, in San Diego while in the Navy. They had one son, Skipper Wilson.
After discharge, he returned to North Texas State University and earned his degree in Business Administration. Most of Jerry's work career was at Chrysler Boat Corp in Plano. He ended his career with Plano Savings and Loan as Comptroller and Vice-President. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plano, where in his early years he served as Deacon and choir member.
Jerry is survived by his son, Skipper Wilson; granddaughter, Eliska Sutton and husband, Randy; great-granddaughters, Lily and Kylie Sutton; sisters, Carolyn Hersh and husband Alfred, and Phillisha Jacobs.
Jerry is preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Wanda Wilson; his parents; his brothers, John Tom, Richard, and Ronald; his sisters, Betty Jean Maxwell and Barbara Courson.
Graveside services will be held at Restland Cemetery at a date to be announced shortly.
