

Jesse was born in Newbern, Tennessee to the late Edward Sr. and Mary Scott on April 17,1918. He attended grammar school in Newbern and Bruce High School in Dyersburg, Tennessee. After high school Jesse attended Tennessee State University where he received a Masters Degree in Education.
Jesse enlisted in the army in 1942 and served in World War II as a Sergeant. December 23, 1959, Jesse married Ernestine Everette. Out of that union, was born a son, Michael Anderson (deceased) and a daughter, Pamela Sue.
He served as a principal in the school systems of Tennessee. After moving to Kansas City, Missouri in 1963, he continued to serve as principle in the Kansas City School District. His love for education allowed him to serve for a total of 30 years.
Jesse was the 3rd oldest of six brothers. He is proceeded in death by his 5 brothers:
Ed, James, Harry, Emmett and Billy.
Jesse (J.W.) was a devoted husband and father. His kindness caused him to be loved by all and left wonderful, lasting memories for all who met him. For many years, he served as a Sunday School teacher in the Presbyterian Church. Those who know him will testify that he was a godly servant, filled with wisdom and lived by the biblical principles he taught.
He loved all types of sports. He also enjoyed old westerns, classic movies, reading and history. He was a very special man, in a league of his own. He truly lived an extraordinary life. He was giving, gentle, caring and compassionate.
Mr. Scott will be laid to rest at the Dallas - Fort Worth National Cemetery.
The cemetery was dedicated by the Veterans Administration on May 12, 2000.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ernestine E. Scott, his daughter Pamela Sue Hardy, his sister, Mary Lynn Thompson, 2 grandchildren, Kimberly Alvarenga and Stephanie Scott and 3 great-grandchildren, Matthew and Isaiah Alvarenga, Alecia Ngako and many other family members.
