Jill Ellen Hickey-Burke

Jill Ellen Burke was a compassionate mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and wife. Jill passed away on August 14, 2023 after a long courageous battle with mental and physical illnesses. She was born in Rochester, New York on April 22, 1964 and spent most of her life in North Texas. She graduated from Plano West High School receiving her high school diploma. On February 17, 1996, she got married to James David Burke.

Jill was a proud homemaker for her children for well over 20 years. She had a passion for writing, reading, handbags, true crime, nature, and animals. Given her love for nature, her Earth Day birth date was fitting. She was empathetic, brave, passionate, sincere, and trustworthy. She was the epitome of true kindness and warmth with the most gentle heart. Her favorite colors were muted shades of green and blue. She dearly loved her pets, collecting magnets, and California beaches.

She is survived by her children Alexandra Leigh Hickey, Robert John Burke, Erin Halli Roberts, and Eden Summer Burke, her grandchild Harlow Dean Hickey, her husband James David Burke, and her siblings John Hickey and Shannon Hickey. Her memorial will be held at Plano Mutual Cemetery on August 26, 2023.
