Grandpa Jack is a name you often heard his family call him. He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Zbylut, his son, Timothy John Zbylut, his daughter, Melissa Ann Zbylut, his two sisters, Cher Mickells and Sue Kennell, and his daughter-in-law, Amy Zbylut. He is also survived by his grandsons; Zach, Zane, Jackson, and Josh.
John was born in Norfolk, Virginia and grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. He moved to Texas in 1978 and began his career with Coca Cola. After 38 years of service, he retired from Coca Cola.
John loved dogs, feeding birds, and listening to music. Some of his favorite music was Mozart, Rolling Stones, and Polkas. He enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and a multitude of car racing competitions. You could often find him eating German food and enjoying hobbies such as star gazing. He loved astronomy, photography, and Greek Mythology.
In Memory of John “Jack” Zbylut
(Written for my family and all those that knew Grandpa Jack.)
By: Amy Zbylut
Spread your wings and be free,
for I know the loving warmth of your soul embraces me.
Countless nights spent gazing at the stars,
will bring me comfort knowing you are not far.
Whether it is a dog barking, a Nascar zooming by, or a Rolling Stones song that catches my ear,
I will rest easy knowing you are near.
As I see birds flying merrily,
I will remember the happiness that they brought to thee.
Spread your wings and be free,
for I know the loving warmth of your soul embraces me.
The strength and pride that you instilled in me will be passed on as the Zbylut Legacy.
And, the next time I say “Skol Vikings”,
I know that you will be there along side of me.
I now see the value of that moment when we last spoke and shared our love for thee,
it will forever be a cherished memory.
Spread your wings and be free,
for I know the loving warmth of your soul embraces me.
