

Johnny was born on March 10, 1950 in Sweetwater, Texas to parents Robert Virgil Soules Sr. and Vallaree (Burnett) Cherry.
Johnny married his high school sweetheart Mary Louise Galt (Weegee) on January 25, 1969 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. What a legacy of love their 53 years has been to us all!
He is survived by his wife Weegee Soules of McKinney, Texas, his two daughters: Traci Soules Prochaska (husband John and granddaughter Emilee) of Little Elm, Texas and Jennifer Soules Wright (husband Todd, granddaughter Sydney and grandson Trevor) of Gunter, Texas.
He is also survived by his older brother, Robert Virgil Soules Jr. (wife Judy) of Colleyville, Texas and younger sister, Patricia Soules Veilleux (husband Mike) of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Aunts Darnell Small of Victoria, Texas, Annie Crozier (husband Larry) of Abilene, Texas and Uncle Jay Soules (wife Glenda) of Sweetwater, Texas, Brother-In-Law Charles Elijah Galt III (wife Melanie) of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Sister-In-Law Liz Plourde of Ft. Myers, Florida.
Nieces and nephews include Rhonda Soules Davies (husband Travis), Tammy Bowen (husband Bobby), Jeff Veilleux (wife Angela), Byron Soules (wife Joanna) and Greer Galt. Great nieces and nephews include Tara, Tyler, Jake, Blair, Brittney, Bailey, John Byron, Jacob and Jordan.
He is preceded in death by his father Robert Virgil Soules Sr. and mother Vallaree Burnett Cherry, as well as Aunt Imogene Good and Uncles Cliff (Sonny) Burnett and John (Buddy) Burnett.
Johnny graduated from Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, New Mexico in 1968 where he excelled in Football and Track. He then went on to serve in the Armed Services from 1968 – 1974.
Johnny was a successful business owner who thrived in sales. Family vacations and travel were some of his fondest memories. He was an avid fisherman, president of the Plano Bass Club for a number of years, and spent many a weekend in tournaments across Texas. He loved hunting, frequent trips to the deer lease, being outdoors, and often took in an afternoon round of golf. In his later years, you could find him (affectionately known as Papa) cheering on his grandkids and watching them play sports.
He was known for his story-telling, quick wit, bringing laughter to the room, and his generous spirit.
A Memorial Service & Celebration of Johnny's life will be held on Monday, November, 14, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Grace Bible Fellowship, located at 101 West Pecan Street - Gunter, TX 75058.
