Joseph Albert Wall

Joseph Albert "Bert" Wall passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of his wife and daughter at the age of 84.

Born and raised in Alexandria, Louisiana, Bert was the son of Edmond Francis Wall Sr. and Jane B. Wall. He attended Menard High School before earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University in 1964. Following graduation, Bert moved to Dallas, Texas, where he met the love of his life, Ruth Juneau. They married and shared 60 wonderful years together, building a life centered on faith, family, and love. Their marriage was blessed with their beloved daughter, Sharon Rene.

A devoted Catholic, Bert was a faithful member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church for more than 50 years. His faith was the foundation of his life and guided the kindness, generosity, and quiet strength he shared with those around him.

Bert enjoyed a successful career in engineering, beginning with Collins Radio Company before retiring from Rockwell International. Outside of his career, Bert embraced life with curiosity, enthusiasm, and a true sense of adventure. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed the camaraderie and challenge of the game, and he found peace on the water as a passionate fisherman. Whether casting a line at sunrise or spending a day on the lake with family, those moments brought him great joy. He was also an accomplished scuba diver who loved exploring the beauty beneath the surface.

Bert and Ruth shared many happy years as square dancers, forming lasting friendships and creating cherished memories through their love of dancing. No matter the activity, Bert's quick wit and wonderful sense of humor made him the kind of person others naturally enjoyed being around.

More than any hobby or accomplishment, Bert's greatest joy was the time he spent with his family. Nothing made him happier than sharing the things he loved with his grandsons—teaching them how to fish, how to confidently drive the boat, and how to appreciate the beauty and peace of being out on the water. He was patient in his teaching, generous with his time, and always ready with a smile, a joke, or a story that would leave everyone laughing. Those days together were about far more than fishing or boating; they were moments of love, wisdom, and connection that shaped lasting memories. His grandsons will forever carry with them not only the skills he taught, but the quiet strength, kindness, and love he demonstrated in every moment they shared. Those treasured memories will remain a lasting reminder of the devoted grandfather whose greatest legacy was the love he poured into his family.

Bert is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Ruth (Juneau) Wall; his daughter, Sharon Rene Luna and her husband, Scott; his grandsons, Alex Luna and his wife, Katie, and Collin Luna; his great-grandsons Liam and August; his sisters-in-law, Carol Juneau and Mary Wall; his brother-in-law, Gene Juneau and his wife, Alicia; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edmond Francis Wall Sr.; his mother, Jane B. Wall; and his brother, Edmond Francis "Eddie" Wall Jr.

Visitation and Rosary will be held at Ted Dickey Funeral Home, 2128 18th St, Plano, Texas 75074, on August 5, 2026, beginning at 6:00 pm, with the Rosary to begin at 6:30 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1201 Alma Drive, Plano, Texas 75075, on August 6, 2026, beginning at 2:00 pm, with a reception to follow Funeral Mass.

Bert will be remembered for his unwavering faith, gentle spirit, enduring love for his family, infectious humor, and the example of a life well lived. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of love, faith, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
