Preceded in death by parents Edward and Florence Carlson, husband Michael Miler, mother in law, Fran Huth, nephew Scottie Carlson, and brother in laws Dick Miler, John Miler, and Mike Miceli.
She is survived by her son Jonathan Miler, brother Lance Carlson with wife Barbara and daughter Laina of Woodbury, MN. In addition, close relatives include Dan and Mary Miler, Afton, MN, Mary Jo Miceli, Plymouth, MN, Pat Perro, Las Vegas, NV and Mary Ann Miler, South Lake Tahoe, CA. In addition, nephews, nieces and cousins will remember her life and legacy.
Judy grew up on the East side of St. Paul and graduated from Johnson Sr. High. As an education major, she graduated from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls, WI. In addition, she completed a Masters degree program through Texas Women’s University Denton, TX.
From October 1966 her marriage to Michael Miler was filled with great adventure, joy, happiness and true love. The life they shared was exceptional and their journey together was blessed. Michael passed on to our Lord on 19 April 2014.
1978 brought Mike, Judy and Jon Miler from Minnesota to Plano. The city offered opportunities and a new home in a growing community. Judy enjoyed a wonderful career teaching fourth grade at Hughston Elementary School. Throughout her many years, she filled her classroom with enthusiasm, energy, and humor. She had a genuine respect and love for each student. Her commitment to the staff and especially her “team” was profound and created a lifelong bond of mutual respect, cooperation, friendship and inspiration.
Upon retirement she enjoyed many activities with time to travel, read, visit friends, cheer for the Dallas Cowboys, cook great meals, and have discussions, laughter and enjoyment at gatherings of her local book club “The Bookies”.
Funeral services will be conducted at West Plano Presbyterian Church at 2709 Custer Rd, Plano, TX 75075. The service will be held on Monday July 9th at 7:00 P.M. Cremation was a personal choice for Judy.
