Judith was born on June 26, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio, a daughter of her mother & father: James and Flora Hathorn.
Judith devoted her life to teaching, in particular students who struggled with traditional learning. She was a student of educational methods that would help her students succeed and often provided materials paid for out of her own pocket.
She was married to her beloved husband, Joe, for over 40 years.
She cared deeply about her son Christopher always making sure he had everything he needed.
Judith was a person who had a special place in her heart for animals, especially cats. Her compassion to take care of them in her home extended to her generosity of donating to several animal shelters.
Judith gave her life to Christ at an early age and followed her faith thoughout her life.
In her final years she relied on her faith to help her through the physical difficulties that took her life.
She was a fighter by nature, with a fiesty spirit - a characteristic that served her well.
She will be greatly missed by her son, daughter and friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM at Ted Dickey Funeral Home, located at 2128 18th Street, Plano, Texas 75074.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 1:00 PM also at Ted Dickey Funeral Home.
Father John W. Kline of the Church of the Holy Nativity in Plano, Texas will officiate.
Burial will follow at Plano Mutual Cemetery.
Ted Dickey Funeral Home in Plano, Texas has charge of arrangements.
