

Lando Hilton Kennedy of Plano, Texas, passed away October 15, 2013 at the age of 78. Hilton was born September 2, 1935 in Smithville, Mississippi to Ora Ethel and Lando Kennedy. Hilton grew up on a farm in Mississippi. He went on a district mission in the Mississippi Delta. He attended Mississippi State before being drafted in the army in 1956. He moved to Dallas in 1960. He married Mary Ann Bartholomew of Ephraim, Utah on August 18, 1961 in the LDS Salt Lake City Temple. They have been married 52 years. He was an avid genealogist and served as a bishop, stake president, church service missionary, and first counselor in the Dallas Temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Kennedy of Plano, Texas, and his daughter Heather (George) Nail of Frisco, TX, son Eric (Amy) Kennedy of The Colony, Texas, and daughter Jennifer (Matthew) Norwood of Plano, Texas, eight grandchildren, his sisters Clara (Ronald) Leavitt of Las Vegas, Nevada, Arcola (Gene) Voyles of Smithville, Mississippi, and Elizabeth (Philip) Mancil of Plano, Texas. He is preceded in death by his son Andrew Kennedy, parents Ethel and Lando Kennedy, brothers Milton and Richard Kennedy, sister Diann Amon, and nephew David Voyles.
A visitation will be held Friday, October 18th from 6-8 pm at the LDS Roundrock Stake Center, 2700 Roundrock Trail, Plano, Texas. Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 19th at 10:00 am at the Roundrock Stake Center. Interment will follow in Plano Mutual Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Kennedy's sons and grandsons: Eric Hilton Kennedy, George Alan Nail, James Matthew Norwood, Andrew George Nail, Charles Ryan Nail (Currently serving an LDS mission in Cali, Columbia), Tyler James Norwood, and William Hilton Kennedy.
