Linda was born May 20, 1948, in McKinney, Texas, where she grew up with 5 other siblings. She attended school in McKinney and graduated from McKinney High School in 1966, going on to obtain her Bachelor of Science in 1970 from East Texas State University. With her degree and a love for people, she earned her certifications become an Art Teacher and Librarian, first at Bloomburg Public Schools and afterword at Crandall Public Schools. She followed in her mother’s footsteps, demonstrating a passion for teaching and creativity.
For a time, Linda also worked testing night vision scopes for Northrup Grumman in Garland, Texas, and for an optical corporation in Dallas, Texas.
Linda loved to socialize and be around others. She was a friendly face in the neighborhood, often waving to cars driving by from her porch, no matter the season. Her unwavering tradition of doing so showed a lasting kindness, which will be dearly missed.
Linda is survived by her brothers, Ben Cregg and Charles (Kay) Cregg, as well as by her brother-in-law, Bill Poteet, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Linda in death are her parents, Charlie and Dorothy Cregg, and her sisters, Charlotte Sue Poteet, Janice (Ronnie) Wallace, and Mary Cregg.
Though she is no longer with us, Linda’s kindness and legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
