Marcy was born in Pueblo, Colorado on August 18th 1955 to Herbert Thorn and Katherine Thorn (Hennard). She spent the majority of her life with her husband Gerald Walker, and she worked as a dog groomer in East Dallas for many years at “The Best Pet Shop”.
Marcy had a passion for animals (mostly cats), and in her free time she enjoyed looking after her cat Daisy and spending as much time with family as she possibly could. Marcy was a very spontaneous woman. There wasn’t much that she wasn’t willing to try or do, whether it be food or just a new experience Marcy was always down to try it. She loved being around family and often you would catch her just smiling and looking around because she found peace in just having her loved ones around her.
Marcy was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Katherine Thorn, brother, Kenneth Wayne Thorn, and mother-in-law who she looked up to as a mother after her mother passed, Pamela Ragan.
Marcy is survived by her husband of 35 years, Gerald Walker, sister, Pam Bunch (Husband, John Bunch), sisters in law, Robin Walker and Kimberly Mills, brother in law, Michael Pruitt, niece, Lindsley Meadows, and nephews, John Seltzer, Kerry Walker, Cody Pruitt and Matthew Pruitt.
Marcy touched many lives and leaves behind many good memories. In her last days she would talk about seeing her mother again and how amazing it will be, she also mentioned many friends that passed before her. Marcy found peace in her last few days and spoke of her transition. She definitely put up a fight against her illnesses. She did not allow that to bring her down. She was comfortable in her faith and she knew she was in God’s hands and was safe with him. Her last days on earth were memories that our family and loved ones will cherish forever. We all love you and will miss you so much!
