Mario graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1971 and then attended the University of North Texas where he graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts in History.
After college Mario began his career working for the City of Carrollton and then became Manager of Human Resources for Bexar County and later for Dallas County. His long career with Service King Collison Repair began in January of 1995 where he was hired as Manager of Human Resources and Director of Safety. During his time at Service King, Mario was influential in many different ways; whether mentoring a coworker or fighting for legislation change at our State Capitol, he continually strived to be an advocate for the industry.
Mario is survived by his wife of over 24 years, Myra Malacara of Plano, Texas. They were married on October 3, 1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada and shared a passion for traveling, family and most importantly one another. He is also survived by three children who love him dearly: Christy Gammill of Dallas, Jason Adamcik of Allen and Stephanie Fine of Dallas, as well as, 18 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and five siblings: Josie Malacara of Austin, Johnny Malacara of San Antonio, Guadalupe Ontiveros of San Antonio, Javier Malacara of Austin and Blanca Blanchard of Ft. Worth.
Mario was a wonderfully caring husband, father, brother and friend to all. He will be missed greatly. In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to consider a donation to the “National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation” (www.npcf.us).
