Marion George Spurlin

George Spurlin was born September 13, 1923 in Erick, Oklahoma and died at the farm home on January 17, 2013, surrounded by family. He loved the land he farmed and saw God’s hand in all of His creation. George adored his family, loved God and country and enjoyed good books and travelling.

Proceeded in death by his dear wife Quincy Pearl, his Mother and Father, brother and sister, and a daughter-in-law, his life continues in his children Phil, Quincy and David, and two grandchildren, Stefanie and Matthew and his companion Lodema Loveless. George was a quiet man, forged by the Dust bowl and Great Depression in western Oklahoma and service in the army during World War II. He was one of the last Great Generation and lived simply, expressing how he lived by this: “Nothing is worth more than this day”.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at First Christian Church of Plano, 813 East 15th Street, Plano, TX, on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 11:00 in the Small Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to God's Food Pantry located at 3420 E 14th Street, Plano, TX 75074.
