Mark was born on June 8, 1971, in Garland, Texas. He was raised in a close-knit family in Plano and remained deeply rooted in his hometown throughout his life. Mark was born with an inherent love and aptitude for music; he began playing guitar at an early age, and this continued for the rest of his life. Although gentle and soft-spoken, Mark was an accomplished athlete. He attended Armstrong Middle School, Williams High School, and Plano East Senior High School where he excelled in football. As a boy, Mark loved spending time with his family at Lake Texoma, riding his motorcycles and water skiing. Mark was a member of, and baptized at Plano East Church of Christ.
He was employed by Options Clearing Corporation in Coppell, Texas, where he worked in cybersecurity. Mark recently celebrated his 10th work anniversary at The OCC, a milestone he was incredibly proud of. Mark had a true passion for his job and often spoke with gratitude and admiration for his co-workers and the company he loved.
Outside of work, Mark found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved listening to and playing music, spending sunny days at the lake, and feeling the sand beneath his feet at the beach. He loved his boats, his motorcycles, and his sweet dog, Breezy. A curious and thoughtful reader, Mark gravitated toward non-fiction, particularly books on military history. Though he never served himself, he held deep respect for those who did.
Mark was engaged to be married to Jessica Stephens, and passed away approximately two months before they were to be married.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy L. Williams. He is survived by his loving mother, Phyllis Williams; his two brothers, Scott Williams (Susan) and Brian Williams (Mindy); his nephew, Matthew; and his beloved fiancée, Jessica Stephens, along with her two children, Kyle and CJ, whom Mark cared for deeply.
