Back in about 2017, I worked for Sonic Corp in OKC. Scott and I were on the boat in the cove and hopped onto Corey and Marsha’s Natique to ski before I had to leave for my week with Sonic. At the end of the afternoon, it was time for me to leave and lo and behold I left my shoes on our boat. I was running late and couldn’t spend the time going back to the boat so Marsha loaned me her OluKai flip flops. Pretty much the whole week at Sonic I wore her shoes. 

Marsha literally lived the adage in the fact that she “gave me shoes off her feet”!

It’s so hard that this is real.

Marsha was tough, strong, kind, caring, and generous. Marsha and I worked together twice during the last 16 years. She was my boss and became my friend, but we were much more than work friends.  We became friends that share life stories and compare notes, like squealing about the last “Scandal” episode, or critiquing our latest Micheal Kors clothes and bags. 

Marsha would come into my office, sit on the floor, lean against the wall, cross her legs and we’d talk, share, and laugh. I will be able to picture it forever. I felt special that Marsha chose to spend time with me. 

When I came home after a long hospital stay, Marsha wanted to help take care of me and asked when she could come over, I said that I wasn’t seeing people yet. She said, “I’m not people”.  

Marsha knew that I wanted a Kitchen Aid mixer. Right before Christmas, she yelled at me to come to her office. She was looking at mixers and said which one do you want, what color, and these colors are on sale!

I loved her, I am honored to have been her friend, and I will miss her forever.

Remembering Marsha is easy to do because of her energy, optimism and ability to find humor in difficulties. Marsha and I came to know one another through the strategic planning process where Marsha worked and then I had the good fortune to get to know her more deeply when she joined a leadership advisory board that I led. Marsha impressed me with her love of life, her devotion to Corey, and her ability to speak the truth in love. Marsha would tell people the hard truths they needed to hear. And because she delivered her perspective with compassion and from a place of experience, people were grateful to receive her feedback as coaching. Marsha was very good at whatever she chose to puruse, and her zest for life reminds us all to spend lots of time with loved ones and to always make room for enjoying the fun things in life.

It has taken some time to  try to capture 31 years of close friendship with words.

Marsha was one of my very closest friends. She was a confidant, partner in impromptu dance parties, coach in the water, cheerleader in the audience, and there when I needed her most. 

Marsha was an “all in” type of friend that would  endure body building prep. meals and workout with you  while at the lake to show support. She would fly to Denver to take you shopping for clothes in your wheelchair while in a recovery hospital because she loved you.  She would listen and ask you questions when you needed a thought partner.  Above all, Marsha did not judge you. She accepted and loved you for who you are. Unless you are the boat driver. ;)

Marsha showed me you can live your life doing things you love with confidence. She got me back in the water behind a boat surfing on my stomach when I had just graduated to a walker after my car accident. Then a year later in my wakeboard. 

I am forever grateful she pushed me when I wasn’t sure I would ever do the things I loved again. She taught me to always try, even if it meant adapting things first. She helped  me regain my quality of life. 

Even  though I miss her beyond words, she lives in my heart.  i know I will see her and laugh hysterically at ourselves again.

Marsha married Corey Winter who is Gary Winter’s only son.  Gary was my uncle raised by Pauline and George Winter my maternal grandparents.  I have not seen Marsha and Corey since my mother Shirley passed in 2012.  I am so sorry for your loss Corey as I know how amazing your life has been with Marsha in it as was anyone’s life enriched with Marsha in it.

Marsha’s obituary has been open on my computer for a week because I’ve been at a loss for words. She did life so well. I’m still shocked and heartbroken. Though I only had the privilege of knowing Marsha for a few short years, I saw how deeply she loved her neighbors and cared for her people. She was a firecracker. Full of energy, joy, and fun, she brought that spark into everything she did. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and close friends. Her work family will miss her dearly.

First time I met Marsha she was marrying my best friend’s son. I thought what a beautiful bride and thru the years I was happy to hear that they enjoyed many wonderful times together! My heart goes out to you Corey and I pray your memories will help you thru this difficult time!

So  sorry I haven't seen Marsha since she graduated from high school she was very pretty and out going. I don't understand why she was taken so young.   My prayer are with the family.

We couldn’t have ask for a more loving wife for our son. Marsha will be remembered by Tim and I for all the wonderful times and trips we shared with her & Corey. She always had a smile and was always eager to go on a new adventure. We’re thankful she won’t have to endure any more pain but devastated that she is gone. 

We loved her and will forever miss her.

As word of Marsha's passing was shared this week so many women in our company told me that Marsha was a mentor to them.  In the software industry, female executives are rare.  As a Vice-President, Marsha used her role to mentor young women across ECI.  One said to me, "I look up to her.  She is a mentor to me.  I watch how she conducts herself in meetings.  She is a great example of a female leader."  Marsha's investments in our young females will not be lost with her passing.  She has already planted many seeds of encouragement and led by example.

Marsha was kind, strong, clear, truthful, and balanced in all her work that I was part of at ECi/Spruce division.  She was more than a help to me professionally - she was also at times a listening ear, and a friendly voice in the midst of a comlex problem that I could not have managed without her assistance.  Marsha was what I would describe as a "solid" person - someone I want to be like, more and more.  I trusted her advice to me - and what she said she would do, she would do - every time.  And if she couldn't do it, she would say so.   She was a woman who practiced virtue in her work - a rare and wonderful gift to us all at ECi.
I will miss her, but only to a fraction of what I can only imagine her parents and Cory and friends and extended family are feeling right now.
My prayers and shared pain, and hopes for eternal peace in Christ are with you all now - cling to Him and His words, and all will be well.

Marsha was a remarkable colleague and an even more remarkable person. I feel truly grateful to have had the opportunity to work alongside her. Her talent, integrity, and genuine care for others shone through in everything she did. My heartfelt condolences go out to Corey and the entire family. Marsha’s presence will be greatly missed and always remembered.

All too often in life we take for granted people we cross paths with and when that path ends, we look back and realize how much of an impact that person had on you and Marsha was no exception. In the short time I got to know Marsha it was apparent she had a zest for life as well as tenacious work ethic, always looking out for our best interest at hand. It is my hope that our paths get to cross again as this is not a goodbye but an I’ll see you later message.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Marsha’s passing. I had the privilege of working with her at ECI on a few customer accounts, and even in that short time, I came to truly value every moment we worked together.

Marsha had a rare gift — she listened deeply to customers, understood their needs, and adjusted terms with both fairness and insight. She didn’t just preserve relationships; she transformed them, turning customers into genuine advocates. That’s a kind of magic few possess.

She had the perfect balance — always fair, always real, always dependable. It was an honor to work alongside her.

Marsha, you will be missed beyond words. I’m sending heartfelt hugs and healing to her family during this difficult time.

It was an honor to work alongside Marsha and to see firsthand her talent, dedication, and kindness.  She was not only a valued college but a wonderful person who cared deeply about those around her.  My heartfelt prayers go out to Corey and Marsha's entire family.  Marsha will be greatly missed.

Marsha was  my friend and "sister" of my heart.  10 years was not enough time to share, but was packed with  fun and memories  that will last a lifetime. Over the past ten years Marsha became my little sister. I would often pick at her just looking for a reaction. She never disappointed. Her natural wit and laughter was absolutely infectious. And when she brought out that big smile it would light up a room. Anyone that got to know Marsha like we do couldn't help but love her. The past ten years was just not enough. I miss you Sis! I spent many weekends on lake trips with Corey and Marsha.  It was always guaranteed to be a fun time.  I am saddened by her loss but comforted knowing there is no more pain and suffering for Marsha.  I will always remember Marsha as being very strong willed, always knew what she wanted, sometimes tried hard not to crack a smile since she wanted to be serious, was like a sister I never had, determined to make a difference, lived each day with no fear, and lived a life full of many adventures and many laughs.

Marsha was truly an extraordinary woman. I may have reported to her, but she was far more than my leader, she was a dear friend. She had a way of making people feel valued and supported, and her kindness and wisdom left a mark on my life that I’ll carry forever. Losing her so suddenly is heartbreaking, and the absence she leaves is deeply felt.

I will continue to pray for her family, that they find peace and comfort in knowing that while Marsha has finished her race here, her reward is eternal. One day, we’ll see her again, and what a joyful reunion that will be!

I had the privilege of working alongside Marsha, but more than that, I was lucky to call her a dear friend. I often turned to her—not just for guidance in work, but for the kind of wisdom and warmth that only a truly special person can offer.
