Mary Frances (York) Lee, 91, of Plano, Texas passed away peacefully from natural causes on Thursday, September 28, 2017. Mary was born on Thursday, January 14, 1926 in Lubbock, Texas to a loving family as the middle of three sisters and one baby brother.
Mary married the love of her life Rex E. Lee on Thursday, June 7, 1945. After Rex served in the U.S. Army, they both attended Texas Tech University before having two daughters. They spent their entire lives together until his passing in 2001, always living with and surrounded by the close-knit family they built, from Rex’s mother Olive Lee to their great-grandchildren.
Mary was a devoted member of the LISI Richardson Women’s Book Club and the Canyon Creek North Garden Club, where she forged some of the greatest friendships of her life. Once her children and grandchildren were grown and building families of their own, she enjoyed going back to work in 1987 as the third employee of the Women’s Diagnostic Center in Plano at the age of 61, until retiring at the age of 85!
Living a long and fulfilling life, Mary was a strong-willed, hardworking, devoted and loving parent, a good neighbor and friend to many. A lover of jigsaw puzzles, the Dallas Cowboys, and a nice glass of red wine, she will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
Mary is survived by her two daughters, Rexanne Hartley and Janet Lowry with husband Roy, four grandchildren; Elisha Langham with husband Tom, Jason Lobo with wife Taylor, Jeremy Steinke with partner Jim and Amber Conway with fiancé Travis Luther, and seven great grandchildren; Reece, Caiden, Malakai, Loghan, Eli, Zeke, and Ulysses.
Arrangements under the direction of Ted Dickey Funeral Home, Plano, Texas.
