

Maureen Angela Yervasi, 72, of Plano, Texas, was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1951. Along with her parents and older brother Albert, Maureen grew up in Brooklyn and ultimately attended and graduated from Pace University in New York City. After graduation, Maureen began her lifelong career in education, teaching at a private Catholic school in New York City. Maureen married her devoted husband, Robert, in 1973, and gave birth to her first child, Stephen, in 1976. In 1980, the family relocated to the DFW area for Robert’s job, and Maureen soon continued her career in education in Texas. She had her second son, James, born in 1986.
As a committed educator, Maureen served as a teacher and eventual administrator in the Plano Independent School District, retiring as an assistant principal. Through this all, Maureen remained a faithful servant of the Lord, a devoted wife to Robert, a doting mother to Stephen and James, and ultimately a proud grandmother of eight. Maureen is survived by her loving husband, Robert, son Stephen and his wife Anne, son James and his wife Sharon, and her grandchildren, Sydnee, Everett, Sebastian, Elliott, Tony, Brooklyn, Miriam, and Bella. A funeral Mass for Maureen will be celebrated on January 24, 2024, at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plano, TX.
