

Melvin C. Hoover was born on August 3, 1941 in Niagara Falls, NY. Melvin was the only son of Quay and Ada Hoover. Melvin's spent most of his life in Texas, and his childhood between Pennsylvania and Ohio. Melvin joined the Navy at age 17, with the consent of his parents. Melvin was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1961. Melvin then applied his knack as a Jack of all trades. Melvin did many things throughout his life and did them all well. He worked as a peace officer and finally worked for the Sherriff's office as a jailer. Melvin spent a proximity 15 years there. Melvin loved going deer hunting as well as working as a gun smith on his different guns. Melvin is survived by his children, Don Hoover, Doug Hoover, Jennifer Hoover (daughter n law), Krist Davis, and Daniel Hoover, his sister Janet DeLaCruz, and his grandchildren, Del Gardner, Dustin Gardner, Tiffany Hoover, Bret Hoover, Nick Hoover, and Rachel Davis. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Melvin's name.
