Liebe Karin,

Mike was always a joy to be around. His positivity and calm demeanor put everyone at ease. He was great to talk to and we always felt Mike was a genuinely nice, caring person. Every holiday was made that much better when Mike was around. The conversations were always fun, he could relate, and was open to learning about other cultures. Mike’s cooking was out of this world, and while we’ll never match his cooking levels, we’ll do our best to carry on Mike’s tradition of prepping great meats.

There's few memories of my childhood that don't feature Mike Hamilton and I couldn't be more thankful for that.

I'm grateful to have had his kindness, generosity, humor, and incredible culinary skills as a part of every trip to the lake, every backyard bbq, every pool party, every late night poker game where us kids fell asleep waiting for the grown ups to throw in the towel, every slumber party with Jennifer where he didn't mind when we took over the computer room to stay on AIM for hours.

He was an incredible uncle to me, and an even greater brother to my dad. Together, they taught me what it really means to be a friend. They showed me how to show up, to share the good times and the hard, to raise your kids together, and ultimately how to turn friends into family.

I will miss him greatly but am so humbled and honored to have the Hamiltons as part of our family.

Here is a photo of one of our trips together that I will cherish for all the years to come.

All of my love.

I remember shooting pool with Mike at Pass Time Billards when we were 16. His brother tended bar there so we drank cold beer and listened to Hendrix on the jukebox. Many a hockey game at Fair Park as well. Yes, we got around in those days. First met Mike playing soccer. Our time on the club teams we played for are still close to my heart. Drove him to the Longhorn tour tryouts at Hilllcrest High School. My father also funded Mike's trip. Mike was passionate about soccer and it showed. When he met Karen his passion changed to family and it showed. He was a good man and he will be missed.

I first met Mike back in 1975 when I moved to Plano from Dallas. There was only one soccer team in town and so I joined the team. Through the years, with many a bbq and poker games mike was always there with his wit and humor. Had many a great times with him and his family. I moved to Switzerland in 1987 and when Mike and Karin got married invited them to come and stay at the place I was working at. We had ablast on the slopes. Everytime I was back in Texas there would always be a get together at the Hamiltons. I will miss you brother.

Dear Karin, Jennifer and Kevin,

My deepest condolences to all of you at this most difficult time.

I have so many memories of living across the street from you in the 90's. We had returned from Germany in 1991 and had much to talk about. Loryn was at your house or Jennifer was at mine. Kevin was usually running around here and there. I remember bringing Trevor over when he was just a few days old.

The memory that came to mind exemplified the kind of man Mike was. In December of 1995, I was 6 months pregnant with Trevor and Loryn had oral surgery for the front teeth she knocked out. I brought her home still pretty sedated and couldn't pick her up out of the car to get her inside. Not knowing what to do, I came to your house and Mike was home. I told him the situation and without a thought, he dropped what he was doing and came to help. He scooped her up out of the car, brought her inside and laid her on the couch. I don't know what I would have done without his help.

I pray for peace and comfort for your family.
