

He leaves his son, Michael Franklin and wife Cathy, his son, James Kenneth, his daughter Rhonda Hallman and husband Brian, four grandchildren, one great grandchild, his sister Virginia Earlywine and husband Jim, and many close friends.
Born and raised in Harvey, Illinois, the son of Michael and Stella Kabaj, he eventually settled in Plano, Texas in 1968 to raise his family.
After graduating from high school in 1946, he joined the United States Air Force. He met his wife, Frankie Foote, while dancing at an NCO club at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California. They were married at Biloxi Air Force Base in 1952. He retired from the Air Force as a Master Sargeant E7 after 20 years of service.
After retiring, his family relocated to Plano, Texas where he began his new career as a Quality Control Engineer for Texas Instruments. Upon retiring from Texas Instruments, he held various positions with Varo Systems and the United States Post Office as well as owning his own air conditioning and heating service.
During his retirement, Mr. Kabaj enjoyed watching his grandkids play various sports and enjoyed dancing, fishing, playing golf and playing cards. He was a long time member of the Saint Marks Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
A viewing will be held at Ted Dickey’;s Funeral Home in Plano, TX on Thursday, March 9th from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. A funeral service will be held at Saint Mark’s Catholic Church in Plano, TX on Friday, March 10 at 12:30PM.
