Patience Anyaso Oyoyo was born on November 25, 1958, in Abia State, Nigeria, to loving parents. Patience better known as Pat was raised among a large family of brothers and sisters, with whom she shared a lifelong bond.
Pat later moved to the United States, settling in Houston, Texas, to pursue her education. Through dedication and perseverance, she earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Texas Southern University.
Pat married and had two daughters, Nancy Ijeoma Orji and Patricia Ndidi Orji. Pat’s love for movement, growth, and opportunity led her to live in Maryland before eventually returning to Texas, where she resided in Richardson and then Plano. Pat found purpose and fulfillment in working; it brought her joy, pride, and a sense of meaning throughout her life.
Pat was known for her straightforward nature and strong presence. She stayed closely connected with her siblings, often speaking with them and keeping up with their lives daily. In her later years, she lived a more quiet and sedentary lifestyle, spending much of her time watching television, reading magazines, and keeping up with current events.
Pat was a woman of faith who believed in Jehovah and valued the importance of spiritual connection. Though her later years were marked by health challenges and pain, she remained resilient until her life’s journey came to an end on June 2, 2026.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Ijeoma Orji and Patricia Ndidi Orji; her grandchildren, Damarcus Orji-Kirksey, Christopher Kirksey, and Nalah Orji-Kirksey; her sister, Kate Nwosu, and brother, James Iheaka Anyaso, along with their children.
Pat will be remembered by her family and those who knew her. We find comfort in Jehovah’s promise that “death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.” —Revelation 21:4
