

Patricia Warfield Shawley, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, January 8th. She will be always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and friend to all that knew her. Patricia (Patsy) was born on October 7, 1931 in Elton, Kentucky to Walton (Jake) and Gillie Warfield Short. She graduated from Austin Peay College in 1952, with a Teaching Degree in Home Economics. There she met the love of her life, William (Bill) Shawley, while he was stationed at Fort Campbell Kentucky. They married the following year on March 8th, 1953. They were married 71 years. Along with traveling in their motorhome, she loved spending winters in South Texas and socializing and hosting friends. Patsy was known for her talents as a Southern cook. There was always a place for anyone at mealtime. She always enjoyed cross stitch, crochet, reading, and her friends and family. She was an active member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church of McKinney, TX.
Patsy is survived by her sister, Barbara Thomas, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, sister Kay Tarbox of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, daughter Terri Miller of Frisco, TX, son Rusty Shawley of Fort Collins, Colorado, grandsons, Jeremy Shawley and Dylan Shawley and two great-grandchildren, Paige and Warren Shawley, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in the by her husband Bill, her brother D. N. Short, and her sisters, Ellen Harris and Jerri Short McKinney.
A committal service for both Bill and Patsy will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 11:15 am at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
