Richard Evan Danielson of Plano, Texas passed away unexpectedly at home Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the age of 60. Born in Dallas, Texas on July 16, 1955, Richard grew up in the North Dallas area where he proudly graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1973. He then attended Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, and over the past 11 years, has found great pride and fulfillment in his employment at the City of Plano working in the Parks and Recreation Department.
Richard was an avid lover of sports and history, dedicating a majority of his life to coaching, refereeing, and umpiring. He was a tried and true all weather Dallas Cowboys fan, religiously watching every Sunday, and heartily supported Texas Ranger Baseball and the Texas Longhorns. He had a great passion for WWII aircraft, and as a proud native of this state, loved all things Texas, especially the history and honor of the Alamo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sam Danielson, his mother, Nadie Danielson, and his step son Jason Quisenberry.
Richard is survived by his wife Ann, daughter Ashley, and son Andrew of Plano; sister Mary Hilliard and husband, Wylie of Arlington; and brother Steven Danielson of Denton.
A memorial service celebrating Richard's life will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 3:00pm at First Presbyterian Church of Plano with a reception to follow. The church is located at 1500 Jupiter Rd, Plano, Texas 75074.
