Ronald (Ron) Frederick Fairbrother of Plano, Texas, went home to the Lord on February, 12, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Sandy, of 54 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Evelyn Fairbrother. He leaves behind his son, Bill, his daughter, Debbie, her fiancé, Allan Henman, and his sisters Nancy Myers and Carol Fairbrother.
Ron was born on November 29, 1938, in Traverse City, Michigan. He graduated from Chelsea High School and attended the University of Michigan where he studied Physics. Ron retired from JC Penney as a System Analyst after 38 years of service.
Ron was a loving husband, father, and friend to all who knew him. His family was his greatest joy in life. He loved his church family at First United Methodist Church Plano where over the years he was active in the Vanguard Class, Chancel Choir, Methodists Men and Yard Birds. He was very proud to be a Gideon where he took great satisfaction in passing out the New Testament to all whom came in contact with him.
A memorial service for Ron Fairbrother will be Monday, February 19, 2pm, in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church Plano with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations to either Gideons International (https://www.sendtheword.org/) or First United Methodist Church Plano’s Music Ministry (3160 E. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, TX 75074).
