A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, June 14 from 11:30 a.m. 1:30 p.m. at Evangeline Funeral Home in New Iberia, Louisiana. A mass will follow the visitation at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in New Iberia, LA where Rose attended in her younger years.
Rose was born April 6, 1927 to Joseph and Mary Broussard of New Iberia, LA.
From a very early age Rose held herself to a very high standard. She would accomplish anything she set her mind to and took pride in always doing her best.
In her active days Rose enjoyed designing and making clothing for herself and her family. Her younger sister Mabel took top crown in a local beauty pageant wearing a one-of-a-kind gown made by her loving big sister, Rose.
When Rose and Mabel later took up bowling together, Rose quickly mastered the sport and earned a special plaque and trophy for bowling a perfect game.
Of the many areas Rose excelled in, the place where she was most happy was with her family. Homemaking, cooking delicious memorable meals and being available for everyone in her large family was her favorite way to spend time. She was a most loving mother, daughter, sister and friend.
Mrs. Lopez is survived by: her brother, Joseph Broussard of Concord, CA, her 6 children; Diana, Tina, Peter, Linda, Lisa and Karen, 14 grandchildren; Juan, Antonio, Athena, Toni, Erica, Danny, Nina, Sophia, Ivan, Bernadette, Marla, Melissa, Andrew and Ruby Rose; and her 6 great-grandchildren; Dylan, Jacob, Myah, Marielena, Natalia and Isaiah.
There will be an additional memorial service held for Rose (date to be announced) in San Francisco, CA at one of her favorite places, Glide Memorial Church, followed by permanent placement at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma, CA where she will accompany her loving family, including brothers; Ivan and Freddie, sister Louise and sister-in-law Lena.
