

She was born on December 20, 1923 in Houston, Texas. She attended the Houston Conservatory of Music and the University of Houston majoring in Piano where she received several scholarships.
She married Frank De Leon, a Dallas jeweler and watchmaker where she taught music privately.
She was an active member of the Dallas Music Teacher's Association, the Pan-American Jr. Round Table, the Cecilian Club of which she became president in 1962-1963, and an officer in Little Mexico Garden Club.
She became a professional performer after her husband's death in 1963.
She played in leading Dallas hotels and restaurants.
Ruth also started a musical group consisting of herself and her four children playing at Six Flags Over Texas' Mexico Pavilion.
In 1979 she appeared as guest pianist on WFAA's "Que Pasa" television program. Her longest and most remembered popular engagement was performing at Royal Tokyo, playing to a large audience nightly.
She is survived by her daughter Rosalinda de Leon-Allen and husband John Allen; daughter Ruth Maria Byrne and husband Jim Byrne; and son Frank T. De Leon.
Also surviving are brothers Humberto, Rene, Tommy; sister Mary Uribe, as well as four grandchildren and eight great grand children.
She was preceded in death by one daughter Yolanda Baty.
The funeral service for Ruth will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 1:00 at the chapel of Grove Hill Funeral Home located at 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service, Friday, May 13, 2016 from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM also at the chapel of Grove Hill Funeral Home.
