Scott Alan Vernon

Scott Alan Vernon was born on March 13, 1972 in El Paso, Texas to Carlton Charles Vernon and Monette Frances (Boyett) Vernon and passed away on March 13, 2012 in Plano, Texas. He was a graduate of Plano East High School and attended Austin Community College and North Texas State University. Scott was a member of the First Methodist Church in Plano.

Scott had a life-long love of music, possessed a wonderful sense of humor, and was loved deeply by his family and many friends. He enjoyed collecting memorabilia and giving them as gifts to his family and friends.

Scott was predeceased by his beloved maternal grandmother, Frances Grace Andrews of Stephenville, Texas – his “Mimi”, his step-grandfather, Sid Andrews and his maternal grandfather, Slim Boyett of Stephenville. He was also predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Vernon of Stinnett.

Survivors include his parents, his aunt and best friend, Harriett (Boyett) Wolf of Austin, Texas and her husband, Michael, aunts Susie Guerry and husband, Jim of Amarillo, Carolyn and husband, Ronnie and many cousins.

Memorials may be made to The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill in Scott’s name or the charity of your choice.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm in the Chapel of the First Methodist Church of Plano, 3160 E. Spring Creek Pwky, Plano, TX 75074 on Saturday, March 17, 2012. Interment will be held on Erath Garden of Memory, Stephenville, TX.
