Shri was born in Punjab, India. He was the youngest of five siblings. He is survived by his older sisters Mina, Hem, Asho, and Yasho, of India.
After completing his primary schooling, Shri went to medical school at Christian Medical College in Ludhiana, India. After spending many years as a general practitioner in many settings including several mission hospitals in India, he moved to the country of Oman with his family and continued to practice medicine there. He finally settled in the United States in 1997, and underwent a medical residency in Family Practice at Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland, OH. He continued to practice in the Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine fields for many years until he retired. During his medical career, Shri touched countless lives and participated in a scope of medicine and surgery well beyond those of most of his contemporaries. He was known as a skilled and compassionate physician who was the only advocate for many of the poor and underserved people of India.
Shri is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dr. Susy Ayaram, as well as his children Dr. David Ayaram and wife Kara of Grapevine,TX, and Dr . Ruth Boe and husband Nathan of Lucas, TX. His grandchildren Ethan, Annabelle, Isabelle, and Abigail, will miss him deeply. If there was one thing that Shri loved more than the practice of medicine, it was his family. Staunchly loyal and a diligent provider to the end, he invested all of his time, love, and character in his family. His beloved wife Susy was his closest confidant and life partner in all his joys and sorrows for 47 years from their marriage until his death.
Shri loved traveling and spent years living in various locations of India, Oman, many states within the US, and visited several other countries. He loved being outdoors and seeing the magnificence of nature. He enjoyed reading old classical literature and listening to old Indian songs. The joy he felt when in the presence of his grandchildren was palpable.
Shri was a Christian since childhood. He was baptized in the protestant faith in young adulthood and continued to love and serve God and Christ in all aspects of his life. He was a member of Stonebriar Church in Frisco, TX. All who knew Shri came to find that most conversations with him eventually led to his description of the goodness of God in his life. He always considered his journeys and experiences across the world from a small village in India to practicing as a physician in the United States as a miracle.
One theme that continued to echo through Shri's life on this earth was that of the goodness of God and the hope of the hereafter. As he got older, he always looked forward to the day that he would be able to look into the eyes of Christ and hear, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
A memorial service will be held Friday, April 29 2022 at 1:00 PM at Stonebriar Community church, 4801 Legendary Drive, Frisco, TX 75034.
