Clif grew up in Amarillo High School but enlisted in the Marines at 17 years of age. Later he attended Baylor University and then received his master's degree from the West Texas State.
He joined the United States Marines in August 1946 and served for 3 years in the Signal Battalion, which was responsible for all Marine communications in the field and the end of WWII and the beginning of the Cold War. After 3 years of military service, he was Honorably discharged.
He settled back in Amarillo and in September 1955 he married Narcille Morrison. They were married for 43 years until her death in 1998. Although they never had any children of their own, they loved spending time with their nieces and nephews from both sides of the family. they also loved their dachshunds!
Clif was employed until his retirement at Shamrock Oil and Gas Company when they moved to Plano, TX in 1993 from Houston. After retirement, he worked with his brother Gordon in the home building business. He also help his brother-in-law Bill Colville and his wife Jimmie Morrison Colville at their European Import Furniture business and Designer Furniture showroom in the Dallas World Trade Center. Clif stayed busy and loved life.
Clif loved to fish, hunt, and travel. He enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. Mostly, he adored being with family. He spent many holidays with Narcille's family in Denton, even after her death, and remained close with Narcille's two sisters' families. He had the love of his many nieces and nephews on her side of the family as well.
In the last years of his life, he was a resident at Brookdale Collin Oaks Plano in the Alzheimer's Center where he loved and was loved by the wonderful caretakers there.
Clif is preceded in death by his wife Narcille of 43 years. His parents ,TC and Rowena Todd. and sisters Mary Ann Palmer and Sybil Todd.
He is survived by his siblings, Norma Lockett, and Gordon Todd; Nieces Pam Redus- Puckett, Paula black , Teri Carter, Lark Cooper, April Harwood, Tracy Winters, and Alicia Long; nephews ,Todd Palmer, Many great-nieces, nephews and great-great Nieces and Nephews
