

Joe was married for 68 years to his wife Mildred. They loved listening to bluegrass and Scottish music, worshiping at their church, and travelling all over the world.
Joe was a Master Mason. He and Mildred were also involved in Eastern Star and loved serving in various capacities.
Joe was a veteran of the Army. He spent the majority of his career in public safety communications. First working for Collins Radio where he worked on Classified projects. And then DFW airport until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of APCO International (Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials) and was honored with an award name after him, The Weldon Joe Blair Award of Distinction. A lifetime member of the ARRL, as a Ham Radio operator Joe enjoyed meeting and talking to people worldwide.
Joe is survived by his wife, Mildred, his son Joe and his husband David. His daughter, Connie and her husband Bill, his niece Cheryl and her partner Ralph, and other friends and loved ones.
A Memorial Service will take Friday, January 17th, 2025, at 11:00AM, at St. Matthew's Episcopal Cathedral - 5100 Ross Ave Dallas, TX 75206, with a reception to follow.
