William "Art" Huskey

After a lengthy illness, Art Huskey passed peacefully into eternal rest on October 14, 2025, with his devoted wife Nanci by his side. Born in Bakersfield, California, Art lived a life full of passion, curiosity, and adventure.

During his high school years, Art served as president of his school’s DeMolay Club, a reflection of his early leadership and commitment to community. After graduating from UCLA, Art went on to earn a master’s degree in business from Santa Clara University.

Art was a true renegade—his career was as varied as it was successful, always reflecting his deep love for boating, technology, and fishing. Among his many roles, he found particular joy in his most recent position at Bass Pro Shops, where he taught fly fishing. Those fortunate enough to receive one of his hand-tied flies knew they held a true work of “Art.”

Art shared 32 wonderful years with his beloved wife, Nanci. Together, they explored the world, indulged in culinary adventures, and cherished meeting new people and embracing their loved ones. One of their most treasured journeys was a safari in Tanzania, Africa.

He is survived by his daughter, Nicole Brittingham, her husband Travis, and their son Wylie. Art also embraced his bonus sons: Michael Kasher, his wife Teresa, and their daughter Alyssa; and Alan Kasher, his wife Karly, and their sons Ryan, Kyle, and Seth. Art was also blessed with a great-granddaughter, Alice Marie. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephew and their spouses and children.

Art was preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” Arthur Huskey II and Birdie Huskey; his son Jarrett Huskey; his granddaughter Stephanie Kasher; his sister Shirley Rowles and her husband Harry Rowles; and his cherished Aunt Lil.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 15, 2025, at 2:30 PM at Ted Dickey Funeral Home, located at 2128 18th Street, Plano, Texas 75074. The family is requesting that you dress casual in honor of Art's life.
