

Adelaide “Lady” Lehmkuhle, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025, in Brandon, Florida. The following day, her devoted husband of 42 years, John “Bill” William Lehmkuhle, joined her in eternal rest.
Born in Freeport, Florida, to the late John R. Alford and Lydia L. Nowling Alford, and raised in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Adelaide was known for her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and deep devotion to her family. She loved God and found great joy in serving the Lord. Her kindness, warmth, and generosity touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her children: Delores Vance, Carla Molina, Patti Lawrence, Lisa Kenna (Scott), and JR Lawrence (Kimberly); her stepdaughter, Angela Lehmkuhle; and her sisters, Jeanette Gavins, Shirley Holley, Sarah Rocks (Ron), and Margaret Hancock (Reno).
She was preceded in death by her beloved brothers, Edgar Alford and her twin, Adrian Alford (Sybil); her sisters, Frances Clary of DeFuniak Springs, Florida and Carol Rowe of Pikeville, Kentucky; her grandson, Andrew “Drew” Scott Kenna (Shannon); and her stepson, John William Lehmkuhle, Jr.
Adelaide, lovingly known as “Maw Maw,” will be deeply missed by her eight cherished grandchildren and fifteen adored great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at Wells Memorial, 1903 West Reynolds Street, Plant City, Florida 3356.
Though she has left this world, Adelaide’s love continues to shine through her family and all who were blessed to know her. Her faith was her foundation, and those she leaves behind take comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with her husband and loved ones in the presence of the Lord.
