Bonnie Adell Troy

Bonnie Troy, 84, of Plant City, Florida passed away on February 26, of complications related to Parkinson’s Disease. Bonnie was born June 12, 1937, to Ralph and Helen Immings of Dike, Iowa. She will be laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida alongside her husband of more than 50 years and World War II veteran Robert Troy.

Bonnie was a loving mother, friend to many, and lifelong caregiver who earned a nursing degree in 1957 from the Allen Memorial Hospital Lutheran School of Nursing in Waterloo, Iowa upon graduating from New Hartford High School in 1954. She served as a registered nurse for more than 50 years at hospitals in Cedar Falls and Waterloo, Iowa; Longview, Texas and Plant City, Florida. Bonnie was passionate about helping others and enjoyed traveling, spending time at the beach, visiting family and friends and a good glass of wine.

She is survived by her daughter, Terry Troy, her three children, Robert, Emma and Jay; son Mike Troy and spouse Malee, of the Tampa Bay area; her sister Sonja Wright. She was preceded in death by her brother Michael Immings.

A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held at 11 a.m., March 19 at the Wells Memorial Funeral Home, 1903 W. Reynolds St., Plant City, Florida 33567.
