Charles "Chuck" Alred Emlyn, age 50 of Weeki Wachee, Florida passed away on December 2, 2020. Chuck was born September 9, 1970 in Plant City, Florida to Mary Alred Emlyn Roland and Terry Emlyn. He is survived by his mother, Mary; his father Terry; stepfather Dow L. Roland; stepmother Maria Emlyn; grandmother Omega Alred Kistner and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
Chuck was preceded in death by his brother, Chris Edwin Emlyn, grandfather Walter Carroll Alred; step grandfather George Kistner Sr. and adoptive grandparents Andrew P. and Lottie G. Sampson.
Chuck was a licensed contractor in energy systems and an admired sales leader. He spent his childhood in Plant City, FL, in Redlands in South Florida, the Florida Keys and the Grand Bahamas Island. Chuck was a High point trophy winner year after year with Plant City Swim Club and played soccer. He was known to be an excellent cook, a master diver and a positive force teaching swimming, diving and fishing to the children of his relatives and many friends. Mary, his mother became a dedicated swim team mother. Chuck was a vibrant entertainer, a light of joy and good humor when he appeared. Chuck's dog, his number one best buddy, Mike, will truly miss him.
Chuck found a way to deal with the loss of his brother Christopher, who died while they were teenagers. He became a brother to his mates and cousins; he was a brother-in-law to their spouses, an uncle to their children. He has a wonderful stepmother, Maria Emlyn, and a wonderful stepfather Dow Roland. Both became such an important part of his life.
He had the best times of his entire life with two blood families, the Alred's and the Emlyn's and with his adoptive grandparents, the Sampson's. Chuck also endeared himself to other families in the business world, the world of diving, golf and travel. They had a solid love for each other. They played, they worked, they traveled, they enjoyed life together in adventurous sports and games. Chuck supported his "adoptive" families in times of crises; he watched, taught, and supported their children. He would cook for them and shared his life with them. When he was away from them they spoke often and long with each other, with a lot of laughs mixed with seriousness. They kept in touch and when they could not reach each other, they would continue calling and include even me, his mother. Thank you so much for making Chuck's life grand!
Chuck's cousins and mates included his "sisters" and lovers. Chuck never married, a bachelor all his life. So his sisters and those he loved meant the world to him. They and Chuck loved to travel, work together, play games together and they had many adventures together. I know those deep connections will remain in the heart to the end and beyond. Thank you, the beautiful women in Chuck's life. I know that Chuck's love will always remain in you and me. So now we, together, are the essence of Chuck's family love.
