With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, David Nathaniel Drexler, who departed this life on June 18, 2025, to be with the Lord he so faithfully served.
Born on October 19, 1948, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to James A. Drexler and Grace Joan Drexler (DuShane), David was a man whose life was marked by deep and unwavering faith, devotion to family, infectious joy, and boundless warmth. He graduated from Tech High School in 1966 and soon followed his calling to attend Pentecostal Bible Institute in Tupelo, Mississippi, from 1966 to 1968.
On September 7, 1968, he married the love of his life, Wilma Lorrene Worley. Together, they built a life overflowing with love, laughter, and service. For over 25 years, he dedicated himself to youth ministry, planting seeds of hope, purpose, and spiritual guidance in countless young lives. He was passionate about worship and studying the word of God. And he had a remarkable gift for lighting up a room and making others feel seen and valued.
Professionally, David spent most of his career in accounting, contributing his talents to the dairy, grocery, and automotive dealership industries. He approached every role with diligence, good humor, and genuine care for those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Grace Drexler, and his brother, Timothy Drexler. He is survived by his loving wife, Wilma Drexler; his brothers, Jim (Sheila) Drexler and John Drexler; his sons, Doug (Dawn) Drexler and Dwayne Drexler (Beatriz Abella); his grandchildren, Brandon (Novalee) Drexler, Caleb Drexler, and Ethan Drexler; his great-granddaughter, Paisley Drexler; and a soon-to-be great-granddaughter who will surely grow up hearing stories of his love and laughter.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 28, at 12:30pm at Tampa Life Church (10930 U.S. N, US-301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592), with a public viewing beginning at 11:30am.
Following the service, a burial ceremony will take place at Garden of Peace Cemetery (Spencer St, Plant City, FL 33563), where David will be laid to rest.
All are welcome to join us in honoring a man whose presence made the world brighter.
“Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord.” – Matthew 25:23
