Donald Frederick Hallberg, age 87, of Plant City passed away on March 17, 2014. Don was born on Dec. 20, 1926 to Fred and Esther (Petersen) Hallberg in Clark, SD. He grew up in South Dakota, and after graduating he served in the US Army. After returning from service Don worked with his father in the family business until 1953. After his marriage to Lorene, Don spent his forty year career in sales and retired from Bidwell Corporation as Regional Sales Manager in 1994. Don showed great passion for his church, family, friends and country. Worshipping God was important to Don, and he served his church regularly as an usher, deacon, and an elder. He was a dedicated husband of 60 years to Lorene S. Hallberg. Survivors also include, a son Marc D. Hallberg (Elizabeth) of VA., a daughter, Lori H. Ellerbee (Scott) of TX., a sister, Darlene Muchmore of AZ., his Grandchildren, D. Lee Hallberg (Katherine), Heather H. Donahue (Matthew), Brittany V. Hallberg, Ryan G. Ellerbee, Jonathan S. Ellerbee, and Brynn R. Hallberg was Don's special Great-Granddaughter. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 404 West Reynolds St., Plant City, FL. Burial will take place at Florida National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church Music Dept. or stained glass window fund.
